Translation of Wink Up April 2010 [NYC]

[YUMA] If you could be Chinen for one day what would you do?

I'd jump around hopping (LOL). Chinen kun is just incredible in doing acrobats. I think everyone is thinking that way but for me who gets to see it before my eyes it becomes clear even more. So during the time being Chinen kun I'd like to grasp the feeling of how to be good at acrobatic.

If you could be Yamada for one day what would you do?

I'd walk around Shibuya. And also I'd dare to walk around at the main district whit many people ne (LOL). When I'm Yamada kun I'd like to experience a bit how much great attention you will draw (LOL). But I think it's no wonder that he gets so much attention ne. Cause the shape of his face is just beautiful. No matter how often I see him I get like 'Eh, was he that pretty!?'

If someone could be you for one day, attention to this!

Because of my physical constitution there are many fruits I can't eat. Like Biwa(japanese medlar), Kaki or Melon. Within those, the most serious one is apple. When I eat it my lips swell and rip like 'Pucchi'. Apple-allergy which is really rare. When I got checked at the hospital the doctor even said that he saw it the first time ne.

If you 3 would do a skit what part would you be in charge?

The one who retorts. I really love Taka&Toshi san and I especially admire Toshi san's retorting. But in the first place, I think that NYC boys isn't such a comical character. We're just an orthodox Idol group (LOL).

[CHINEN] If you could be Yamada for one day what would you do?

I'd strike a pose in front of Shibuya-station. At the moment there's also a big billboard in front of the station so I guess there might come up pretty much panic, don't you think? If I’d be Yamachan I’d go in front of the Shibuya station without any meaning every day. Soon it will be like a battle between Hachiko and Yamachan so that he gets the favorite meeting spot (LOL).

If you could be Yuma for one day what would you do?

I’d strike a pose in front of the Tsutenkaku (LOL). After having experienced the atmosphere there I’d move over to Shibuya to stand next to Yamachan who’s posing in line with Hachiko like who’s going to win as the new meeting spot… like that I’d challenge the battle. Yuma is taller than Yamachan so he'd look down to him and Yamachan who can't stand that any longer will be like 'Ha! What are you doing there!?' and would move away… I guess in the end it's gonna be like that (LOL).

If someone could be you for one day, attention to this!

In front of the school there's a signboard-like thing and everyone slightly bows when passing by but I can pass by with composure so you wont need to bow. If you bow the people will just think like 'Ha! And i thought he has leeway' and conversely you'll just embarrass yourself so watch out! (LOL)

If you 3 would do a skit what part would you be in charge?

It would be freestyle. Yamachan will probably be the idiot and Yuma the one who retorts but sometimes also Yuma shows the act of a 'natural airhead' ne (LOL). When there comes a really stupid line it's me who enters the scene… kinda like that?







[YAMADA] If you could be Chinen for one day what would you do?

I'd just do nothing but turns and would get called like 'Oh~!' by the people (LOL). And also I'd like to behave like a spoilt kid to the members with those sparkling eyes once (LOL). In my case the expression 'entwine' is rather fitting than 'behave like a spoilt kid'. Like punching or grabbing one's shoulder, just being a bit rough (LOL).

If you could be Yuma for one day what would you do?

I'd bite a human and suck the blood (LOL). If that's done I'd just eat a lot and grow fat! Cause Yuma is really so thin. He should do a homestay at my place. I love meat so I can easily eat Katsudon (breaded pork on rice) in the morning. Ah, but some time ago when I got up at 4am my mother had prepared Shabu-Shabu which made me still surprised. Of course I ate it at once ne (LOL). Therefore if Yuma stays over at my place he'll gain 3 kilos in 3 days for sure.

If someone could be you for one day, attention to this!

You grow fat easily so watch out (LOL). And also in the freetime of like Drama shootings I mess around like a fool and you use a lot of your body's energy so you get quite exhausted. Lately, I once again I'm boasting like 'I'm so tough'.

If you 3 would do a skit what part would you be in charge?

Yuma is of course the one who retorts. And I guess Chinen isn't the idiot ne. That means I'll have the idiot role. I always get retorted by Yuma like 'Are you crazy!?' so (LOL).

Q1. What music genre do you like?
Calming music. In my house I listen to music like the river streaming and birds chirping.

Q2. What genre of music do you like to try singing?
I want to try singing ballads. But I think I don't have much strength singing ballads, so someday when I will have the strength, I would like to sing on that occassion.

Q3. What musical instrument do you like or would like to try?
I like the saxophone. It looks cool. I think "It would be nice if I could play that," but I still have stories ahead of me.

Q4. What music do you want to cheorograph?
I like dancing so I don't choose! Which music do I like... strong kinds, like (Hey! Say!)JUMP's "Endless Dream"

Q5. What's your specialty in dancing?
I don't have a specialty. When it comes to dancing I'm clumsy and I also think I'm sketchy. Isn't there a singing range for songs? Being the same as that, it also seems like there is also a musical range for dance, so wouldn't it be called "Dan-iki" (laughs)? -->yamada made this word up. he combined Dansu (dance) and Iki (range) to form dan-iki (dance range) Since I think there is such a width, my "Dan-iki" is narrow. So I would like to broaden it.

Q6. What part of dancing do you like?
The part when one's personality comes out. A dainty person dances delicately, but on the contrary there are also persons who become wild.

Q7. What dance genre do you want to challenge?
None. I don't have much of an objective. On the contrary, if somebody said "Do this," I strongly feel, "I will definitely do this!"

Q8. Who do you admire when it comes to dancing?
They Budou's Yamamoto Ryouta-kun. He was the first person who taught me how to dance. He has amazing skills, and his dance range is also broad.

Q9. Do you like your voice?
My singing voice is kind of blocked he means that something is blocking him to not give his best singing voice, so I don't like the feeling of giving all my might. My voice in the recording sounds different from my usual voice. So when I listen to the CD I always think "Whoa!" (laughs)

Q10. Do you like singing or is it your strong point?
I love singing. Whenever I sing, I become honest. Especially in concerts!

Q11. When it comes to singing, which sempai do you admire?
(Domoto) Tsuyoshi-kun, Tegoshi (Yuya)kun. They are really good, and I like their voices.

Q12. What is your favorite part in concert?
The part when I get to see myself in realtime realtime is seeing one's show, etc. when it's aired where I see that I am growing the kind of growing he means is growing to become a man , my facial features and hairdo, and my muscles, and etc. I also like the part when I can directly feel the smiling faces and tears of the fans.

Q13. What would you like to challenge in concert?
All this time this idea of mine has not changed, and I really want to do a "For the fans" concert someday. It will be a concert that would expand dreams as far as to the highest degree. What does that mean is, well I don't know yet. Although I am stupid, I am also a genius (laughs). Look, isn't often a paper-thin difference? Q14. When it comes to concerts, which sempai do you admire?
(Domoto) Koichi-kun. What is it about him, it's that charm of his. But I don't know for sure, so I think it's his charm.

Q15. Is work fun?
It is fun! The reason is... If you want to know about this, I wouldn't be able to say "You want to try?" (laughs). There are times that I feel tired and also sleepy, but it's fun.

Q16. Besides music, what genre do you have interest in your work?
I want to jump in the movie industry someday. Just like theater and concerts, I get to watch myself performing in real time so that's why I have great interest in it. I'll greatly care about how I would project myself to the eyes of the people who are watching. When I perform I would like to become an actor who can perform any kind of role because I think that myself as an idol doesn't really matter.

Q17. Which sempai do you admire as an actor?
(Ninomiya) Kazunari-kun and (Morita) Go-kun. They have individualities in their dramas, and it's not just their acting performance, but they also have an impression that their acting range varies.

Q18. What is your method to relax when you are tired?
I sleep. After that I listen to music. A song like the river streaming ne (laughs). When I listen to it, I can feel the "Ah, I'll be able to sleep, I'll be able to sleep" kind of relax. After that I put on a warmed eyemask.

Q19. When you've done your best, what is your reward to yourself?
I'll eat to my heart's content. I want to eat yakiniku now. I especially like Kalbi ♪ But I don't like expensive meats... because it's high in fat (laughs).

Q20. As a person, which sempai do you admire?
Inohara (Yoshihiko)kun. By the way I see him on TV. How he probably carries his image to everyone, I think I understand it!

Yamada: I think it’s cute!
It’s OK if you want to be spoiled! It’s cute when we’re together and she scooches near me. I want to listen to every word that the girl I like says.

Ryutaro: Don’t always be spoiled.
There’s times when you shouldn’t be spoiled though. In my imagination, if I spoil her, I’ll really spoil her. But since there are times when you can’t be spoiled, you can think that those times when you are spoiled are the best.

Okamoto: I’ll take her in
Although I don’t want her to be extremely clingy, I want to become good friends with her, and I think it’s fine if she wants to be spoiled. I’ll take her wanting-emotions in.

Inoo: When it’s just the two of us.
I like being spoiled and I think it’s cute. It’s definitely going to get a bit embarrassing in front of people, so I would want her to think about the time and place. I would like it if it’s just the two of us.

Hikaru: I want her to be spoiled cutely
There’s a limit though. It’ll be a bit tough if she attracts all the attention of everybody. I’ll approve if she acts cute while she’s getting spoiled!

Yabu: I want to get spoiled too!
I don’t hate spoiling somebody, and I like getting spoiled. I’ll also like it if we both jokingly spoil each other (laughs). I think it’ll be a good relationship if we spoil each other.

Takaki: I like mature girls.
I don’t think I’ll like it if they’re always getting spoiled. It’s not like I hate it, but it’ll depend on the time and place. There are even times when I’m happy when I get spoiled myself.

Q2.A tsundere Juliet T/N: Tsundere: girls that are cold and strict at first or in public, but becomes all lovey-dovey when they are alone together.

I’ve never met somebody who acts like that so I don’t know how they act and stuff so I want to meet them.

Yamada: Please stay yourself!
I don’t think I can handle them… Because tsundere all have it calculated right? The time to be cold and strict, and then they have to I guess calculate when to get all lovey-dovey. It’s more appealing if a girl stays herself.

Ryutaro: Tsun from tsundere is no good. T/N: Tsun= coldness, bitterness. Dere= spoiled.
Since I’m fine with girls getting spoiled sometimes, and not getting spoiled so the “dere” in tsundere is fine. But “tsun” is no. Because if we’re together and she goes “tsun” on me, then it’ll just be a huge problem.

Okamoto: I like nice girls.
I don’t think I’ll like girls who’re cold and bitter towards me. I definitely like nice girls and it’ll comfort me if I’m with a girl who’s always smiling.

Takaki: I’m cold and bitter so…
If I had to choose, I’m pretty cold and bitter so I wouldn’t want girls to be like that to me. If we’re together then I would rather have a good time.

Inoo: Because I have a glass heart
My heart is a glass heart. If they’re cold and bitter towards me, then I’ll get hurt. Even if I know they’re doing it on purpose, I’m a bit of a crybaby so (laughs).

Hikaru: Because my personality will change (laughs).
Hmmm~, I don’t think I like them that much. Since I’m cold and bitter and if the girl’s like that then we’ll just be like that to each other (laughs). Being yourelf is the best.

Yabu: I’d rather you act yourself.
No thank you! Girls shouldn’t have another side to them, and just show their true self. If they like me, then they like me; if they hate me, then they hate me, I want it that to be comprehendible and clear.

Yamada: It’ll get me fluttered!
I want somebody to say to me, “I like you!” in a very strong way! I think men get happy when girls gather up their courage and confess, or invite her boyfriend on a date.

Okamoto: Leaders are wonderful!
I’m like a follower so (laughs). I have this habit of adjusting myself to be like somebody, so I’ll be happy if she leads. If both of us are reluctant, then we’ll get nothing done will we (laughs)?

Arioka: I want her to be leading.
I totally approve if she leads! Because men might get self-conscious and think, “I wonder what she thinks of me” and stuff like that.

Inoo: I want her to voice her own opinion.
I don’t want her to be pulling me everywhere, but I do want her to tell me where she wants to go next, or what she wants to eat; I think it’s good if you can voice out your own opinion.

Yaotome: I want her to confess to me.
I like girls who are leaders. Since they’re very outforward, and might say, “I like you” in a very understandable manner, I want her to confess to me like that (laughs).

Takaki: If it’s in general, then it’s OK.
If she’s always thinking about me, then I’ll probably back away from the relationship. I’ll be glad if she says that she likes me, so if it’s just in general then I’m OK!

Ryutaro: I want to take this like baseball.
If you compare a leading person to baseball, it’s like those people who hit a homerun on the very first pitch. I think the relationship should take it slow during the beginning, and not go for it (laugh).

Yabu: In the end, I want to lead.
Eeerm, I think I’m not good with girls who lead. Rather than her going up to me, I want to lead and I want to confess or take her out on dates.

Yamada: Girls can cry.
Girls can cry I they want to. If you’re crying for some reason, I’ll properly ask you, “What happened?” and listen to you.

Okamoto: Even if they’re fake, I’m fine.
You’re cute even if you’re crying. I think I’m easily fooled by tears though (laughs). But it’s fine if you fool me. I’ll work my hard to make a funny face or to make you feel better.

Inoo: I’ll wipe your tears for you.
I think it’s fine if you’re the type of girl who naturally expresses emotions. If you cry too much, it’ll get me worried but if that does happen, I’ll make you feel better and wipe your tears for you.

Once girls start crying, they don’t really stop do they (laughs). Fact. I chose “no good” because I don’t want to make the girl cry, and just be really friendly with her!

Arioka: If they’re happy tears, then it’s OK!
I’m very bad at dealing with tears, very bad… (laughs). But it’s fine if you cry when I throw you a surprise birthday party or a surprise Christmas party.

Takaki: If you cry, we can’t move forward.
I don’t know how to deal with girls who cry a lot. You might think coldly of me by saying this but we can’t move forward if you’re crying all the time. Past experiences much?

Yaotome: Your smile is number 1!
I’m very weak with dealing with girl’s tears! If you easily cry, then I don’t know how to deal with you. I would prefer girls who are always smiling!

Yabu: I’ll be okay if you’re crying because you’re so appreciative!
It’s fine if you sometimes cry, but it’ll get a little problematic if you’re always crying. I don’t know what to do. But if you’re crying because of movies or dramas and you’re so touched by it, then I think it’s fine!

Yamada: I like girls who wear no makeup.
I prefer girls who doesn’t wear any makeup. Rather than having all that makeup on your face that looks like as if you tried too hard, I’d rather had that natural free kind of look!

Ryutaro: Since my mom wears no makeup as well.
I think it’s fine if girls don’t wear makeup. My mom doesn’t even wear make up,and isn’t it better if a girl’s true self is beautiful?WISE WORDS nbd.

Okamoto: You’re cuter that way.
Recently, I’ve been told by Yamachan, “Your hobbies/likes has been changing” and that’s not true at all (laughs). I still think girls are cuter without makeup!

Arioka: I prefer girls who puts on no makeup!
It’s completely fine! I would rather have it that way. If we were to go on a date and you came without any makeup on, I wouldn’t think, “She’s not trying at all is she.”

Takaki: Fight with your true self.
I love girls who have no make-up on. You look more fragile and I could introduce you to my parents without any worries. Even if it’s just a date, I think I would prefer it if you didn’t cake on makeup.

Inoo: I want to see you in your natural self!
I don’t like caked-on makeup so if you were to put some on, I think natural-looking makeup would be fine, and I think girls who put on no makeup looks cute.

Yaotome: I prefer no makeup!
I like no makeup! Even if you do put some on, more natural-looking is better. But the best thing for the girl is to let her do whatever she wants.

Yabu: You should be like that normally! As in you shouldn’t put on makeup during normal days.
It’s OK! Because don’t you take off your make-up if you have a lot of confidence? You tend your skin to become self-confidence so I think it’s fine.

Yamada: I won’t look at other girls.

Ryutaro: I don’t mind at all.
Since I think, “Friends under loves,” I wouldn’t mind if she got jealous, and I’ll easily forgive her. I won’t get jealous either of course.

Arioaka: She’s the best!
If it’s just a little, I want her to be jealous! It’s kinda cute when she gets a bit worried and gets a bit jealous. I would say to her, “You’re so stupid! Of course you’re the best!” (laughs).

Inoo: If it’s cute jealousy, then I’m satisfied.
If it’s to a point, then I think it’s fine. Not extreme jealousy, but a tad here and there is fine. I’m the type who gets jealous easily, so if it’s cutsey-jealousy then we’ll have a party together! The Party of the Jealous People?

Yaotome: If it’s not a bother, then it’s OK.
If it’s sometimes, then I think it’s okay. But if she’s really strict about it and says, “Only look at me!” then I wouldn’t like it. I wouldn’t even make you feel jealous in the first place!

Okamoto: I like people who trust me.
Jealousy is weird. Because it’s really problematic. I wouldn’t do anything to make you jealous so I don’t want her to focus on jealous so much. I would like somebody who would sincerely trust me.

Takaki: I want somebody who wouldn’t care about that
As long as you continue to live, you’ll obviously have to talk to girls and if it’s a girl I’ve known for a very long time, then it’s inevitable right? So I would want somebody to take that into effect and think about that.

Yabu: Accept it with an open heart.
For example, there might be a love scene for work so I wouldn’t want her to be jealous of that. I would want her to accept that scene with an open heart (laughs).

Q8. A Juliet who’s into Nail Art

Yamada: I prefer simple.
It’s within a girl’s conscience to take care of her hands right. Rather than having very showy nails, I would prefer simple and pretty nails.

Ryutaro: That feeling of being pretty is ◎. ◎= Wonderful, excellent. It’s drawn on tests by the teacher if you get a hundred.
Honestly speaking, I don’t relaly mind. Because that’s within that girl’s fashion so if that girl wants to do it, then it’s OK!

Okamoto: Not too much!
I think it’s cute I would want her to think about her surroundings if she has nails that looks as if they’re about to fall off. If it has a cute feeling to it, then I’ll approve!

Arioka: I like pretty/clean nails.
As long as it’s not like, “What, you have that many fake nails!?” or if you look like a witch, then it’s fine (laughs). I would want her to take care of her hands though.

Takaki: I want her to be free about that.
Nail is different from make-up and it’s part of fashion so I think she should do whatever. Whether you do it, or you don’t, everything’s OK!

Inoo: As long as you can rinse rice. If you’ve made rice before, you would know that you would have to “rinse” or wash the rice first to get all that crap off it before you put it in the rice maker.
Nail art is cute and I’m sure girls like that stuff. So I think it’s fine. If it’s too long and it’s like, “how are you going to rinse rice,” then it’s bad (laughs).

Yaotome: I like colorful ones.
If they’re really long and really pointy, and you can use it as a weapon, then I wouldn’t like it (laughs). I like colorful, pop nail-art.

Yabu: As long as I can hold hands.
It’s not that I like them, but I think it’s good if you have them. But if you put too much on, I fear that it’s going to fall off when we hold hands (laughs).

Q8. A talkative Juliet

Yamada: I like to listen and talk.
Ok Ok! I like to speak and I can listen when I want to. But no gossiping. If she’s going to talk, then let’s talk about something fun!

Ryutaro: I’ll be happy and it’ll feel like a festival
I give a thumbs up to girls who like to talk (laughs). Those types of girls probably talk about really warm, light-hearted things, so our conversations should bounce around and be fun.

Okamoto: I like listening.
Rather than hating to speak, it’s better to like it. Because I don’t usually talk that much. I like laughing and listening to stories.

Arioka: I want her to “tsukkomi” Tsukkomi=the person in a comedy duo who speaks lines that give a comedian the opportunities to make jokes.
That doesn’t mean a girl who likes to gossip right? Then it’s OK! I would like a girl who can lively up a conversation. Even better if she can tsukkomi me.

Takaki: As long as she can read the atmosphere, then it’s OK.
Basically, I like girls who can speak a lot! If we were to go play somewhere, it’s fun if she can lively up the conversation. But if she keeps on talking, then it’ll be a bit problematic (laughs).

Inoo: I like to talk and listen.
Completely OK! I also like to speak, and I love to listen as well. I don’t like those awkward silences. I’d like to enjoy our conversations, right.

Yaotome: Something like a comedic duo.
Since I love to talk, I would prefer a girl who likes to speak. If we can both be like a stand-up comedian, that’ll be fun. Like she’ll shoot my pass (laughs).

Yabu: Listen to everything!
I would completely listen to everything she says. I’m not really good at starting conversations, so if you would like to know anything, ask me!

Q9. A Juliet who has a lot of guy-friends.

Ryutaro: Having lots of friends is good.
I usually don’t get jealous so I’m completely fine if you have a lot of guy friends. It’s better to have more friends than none right.

Okamoto: You don’t have any friends. Not really sure about this… huh.
Wouldn’t it be fine since there’s nothing going on between your guy friends and girl friends? If you’re worried, I think it would be the best if you hung out with all of them at once.

Arioka: Although I would get jealous
I think that girls who have a lot of guy friends are really fresh. But if you go on a “play” date with them, then I wouldn’t want you to take that too far. “play” date= hanging out with guys while at an amusement park or something.

Yaotome: But with a clear difference.
If that girl can cleary differenciate between the guy that she likes, and the guys she’s friends with then I’m fine. But doesn’t a Juliet have a Romeo? Meaning one per person. Get what I mean? Lol

Yabu: If she tells me, then it’s ok.
If she tells me, “Last week, I went out with some guys,” then it’s OK! But if she goes somewhere with her guy friends although she was supposed to go somewhere else with me on the same day, that would be bad, or if she’s meeting another guy by herself, then that’s a nono!

Yamada: Although I’m not completely opposed to it… never mind, no good! I’ll get worried and I’ll probably get jealous (laughs). But if I’m there with your guy friends and we all hang out together, then it’s OK! Overprotectiiiveeee

Takaki: I would prefer that she has more girlfriends.
If I were her boyfriend, the I don’t think I would like her having so many guy friends. I don’t feel comfortable with that. Rather than having lots of guy friends, I would prefer that she has more girlfriends.

Inoo: I’ll get worried about her.
I’ll get jealous so I don’t think I would like that. If she was flirting with her guy friends in front of me, then I wouldn’t like that and even if I knew they were just her guy friends, it would be hard for me.

Q10. A Juliet who eats a lot
It’s OK! → 9 people
Yamada: I don’t care if she’s fat!
It’s completely fine! I think it’s fine even if you got a little fat? If I really like her then I wouldn’t judge by looks! She looks cute while she eats.

Okamoto: If she doesn’t eat, I’ll have to wait for her to finish.
If I had to choose, I’m the type who eats a lot and I’ll just end up making her wait. I think it would be hard for her to eat the same amount of food I eat, but I would like to eat with her.

Arioka: It’ll be fun!
I think it would be more relaxing, or to put it in better words, more fun if the girl eats a lot. If she ate more than me, I would be surprised but I wouldn’t pull away (laughs).

Takaki: We would have fun together.

Ryutaro: Don’t always be spoiled.
There’s times when you shouldn’t be spoiled though. In my imagination, if I spoil her, I’ll really spoil her. But since there are times when you can’t be spoiled, you can think that those times when you are spoiled are the best.

Q2.A tsundere Juliet T/N: Tsundere: girls that are cold and strict at first or in public, but becomes all lovey-dovey when they are alone together.

I don’t think I can handle them… Because tsundere all have it calculated right?The time to be cold and strict, and then they have to I guess calculate when to get all lovey-dovey. It’s more appealing if a girl stays herself.

Ryutaro: Tsun from tsundere is no good. T/N: Tsun= coldness, bitterness. Dere= spoiled.
Since I’m fine with girls getting spoiled sometimes, and not getting spoiled so the “dere” in tsundere is fine. But “tsun” is no. Because if we’re together and she goes “tsun” on me, then it’ll just be a huge problem.
